Lurisia's Tonic Water is a traditional Italian version of the popular Acqua Tonica with lemon and chinotto. Made from an old original recipe with the best mineral water, lemon and chinotto (bitter orange) extracts from the Amalfi Coast, and the bitterness of cinchona bark typical of tonic water, Lurisia's Tonic Water is particularly dry. Selected by Slow Food as an alternative to the overly sweet sodas of American global corporations and included in the Ark of Taste.

Lurisia Tonic Water – how dry Italy can be

Even with Lurisia Tonic Water, the ingredients make all the difference: an infusion of Chinotto di Savona, a Slow Food Presidium, and lemon juice. The microclimate of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente gives the citrus fruits intense aromas. The bitterness of cinchona bark is accompanied and balanced by a delicate acidity, which gives the tonic water freshness and a very fine and lasting effervescence.

On its own, this quinine-containing soda is an excellent thirst quencher; it's perfect as an aperitif with savory snacks or during a meal. Serve it in a stemmed glass with ice cubes and a little lemon peel. The fact that Lurisia Tonic Water, with its bitter notes of chinotto and quinine, can hardly be surpassed in dryness, makes it a great mixer; with gin on ice, it's a beloved classic. The Aqua Tonica contains no artificial colors or preservatives.
