The Ingo Holland Tandoori Masala is a medium-spicy, brilliant spice blend from Indian cuisine for poultry, pork, lamb, and scampi. The main ingredients are annatto seeds, tomato flakes, ginger, salt, garlic, black pepper, amchoor, red sandalwood, turmeric, cardamom, chili, mustard seeds, cumin, cloves, coriander, allspice, long pepper, fenugreek, mace, celery, calamus root, cinnamon, and bay leaf. The Tandoori Masala is for the European taste, light, fresh, short roasted, but with a pleasant spiciness. Ingo Holland's tip: Tandoori Masala tastes delicious with poultry and fish and is excellent for marinating, e.g. with yogurt. The masala can be used for dishes prepared both in the oven and on the grill.

Masala – Blends by Ingo Holland

A masala is a spice blend from Indian cuisine, which, translated from Hindi, means nothing more than "hot ingredient" or "spicy seasoning." However, Indian dishes such as Garam Masala, Tikka Masala, or Tandoori Masala are well-known to us, and thus Ingo Holland has also named his Masala spice blends from Altes Gewürzamt. During the colonial period, the word Masala was first adopted into English and then into German usage.

Altes Gewürzamt – Spices without compromise

Ingo Holland wants to inspire cooking enthusiasts and stimulate creative ideas with his particularly intense spices from "Altes Gewürzamt". He makes no compromises when it comes to the quality of his ingredients, spices, peppers, herbs, and salts. His spice blends, such as the Tandoori Masala, should be usable in a wide variety of ways, "that's why I'm reluctant to give specific application instructions," says Ingo Holland in a conversation with us. If you enjoy cooking and smelling the blends, you'll surely feel the same way we do, and ideas will come to you about which dish or which ingredients this blend might taste particularly good with. The Tandoori Masala best preserves its spicy aromas in the tightly sealed, green Altes Gewürzamt spice tin.

Please use Ingo Holland Tandoori Masala sparingly. As a former Michelin-starred chef, Ingo Holland places great emphasis on the high quality of his spices. As a result, the spices and spice blends are particularly intense and very economical. Be brave and try it out, but be careful: like all spices from Ingo Holland Altes Gewürzamt, the Tandoori Masala spice blend is also intense, as it contains no anti-caking agents, but consists exclusively of spices.
