Rosé Blush Guest Soap – Tradition and Craftsmanship from Portugal

The production of natural soaps, such as this Rosé Blush guest soap, has a 300-year-old tradition in Portugal – Castelbel's own history began in 1999, when Aquiles Barros, a respected professor of chemistry and former employee of the Ach Brito soap factory, decided to build something new and unique of his own.

Not far from the port city of Porto in northern Portugal lies the small village of Castêlo da Maia, where the company was based and from which it took its name: Castelbel – beautiful castle.

Initially, Castelbel produced private label goods for a New York department store, and later for Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The name Castelbel remained hidden. The Castelbel Ambiente collection (lavender, rose, verbena) was launched in 2006, and the success story began. A major contribution to this was made by the wonderful room fragrances in beautiful glass diffusers, which are exported from Portugal to the whole world. A year later, the exclusive Portus Cale series followed, which has found enthusiasts far beyond our borders thanks to its Portuguese product design – in Dubai, South Africa, Japan – and delighting museum visitors in the restrooms of the Louvre in Paris.
