This year's Sawade Advent calendar was designed by illustrator Alice Hoffmann, who now lives in Switzerland. Only after 15 years as an internationally active creative director did the German native discover her true passion and quickly develop a unique visual language. This fits perfectly with the clear colors of the classic Sawade praline boxes and is able to breathe freshness and modernity into traditional motifs.
The 2025 Advent calendar depicts a colorful carousel at the Christmas market, where many loving details can be discovered. It contains a selection of 24 alcohol-free pralines, truffles, and Christmas specialties. Sawade has equipped the calendar with Braille, so that both the doors on the front and the praline varieties on the back can be felt.

Sawade – Berlin
Sawade was founded in 1880 – shortly after the establishment of the first German chocolate factory. The first branch opened at Unter den Linden 19, in the heart of Berlin. Due to its excellent confectionery art, Sawade quickly became a purveyor to the court of His Royal Highness Prince Wilhelm of Prussia.
In 1880, Ladislaus Maximilianus Ziemkiewicz opened the first shop for homemade pralines, confections, and candies on the magnificent boulevard "Unter den Linden". He had learned the art of making fine pralines in France and now founded the Sawade praline manufactory in Berlin's vibrant center. The namesake was Madame Marie de Savadé, a neighbor of the confectioner and founder. Whether the two actually had a special relationship, as is rumored, will probably remain a secret forever.
