The Windmühlenmesser Vogelschnabel stainless steel is a paring knife from Robert Herder from Solingen. It has a sharp, curved stainless steel blade made of chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel and an extended, traditionally oval cherry wood handle. This paring knife is one of the most finely ground knives from Windmühle. It can be found in many households and is even passed down from generation to generation! With its curved blade, which resembles a bird's beak, this stainless steel paring knife is ideal for peeling potatoes or fruits such as apples, pears, or kiwis.

Robert Herder – stainless steel blade and cherry wood handle

The blade of the Vogelschnabel paring knife is made of stainless chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel. The blade is finely and thinly ground in the "Solingen Dünnschliff" (Solingen fine grind) and "feingepließtet" (fine-polished) by hand by true masters. You can sharpen this knife with a diamond honing steel or a whetstone.

The handle is handcrafted from cherry wood, finely ground by master craftsmen, freely shaped, polished, and oiled. Due to its particularly dense structure, the Herder knife manufacturer uses cherry wood from Germany or Austria. The wood is only oiled and not chemically sealed. This makes it food-safe and open-pored. After the first contact with water, it becomes a little rougher and thus more slip-resistant. The cherry wood handle is characterized by a warm feel, natural grip, and individual grain. Regularly treat the handle with wood care oil, and it will bring you joy for a long time. The knife is not suitable for dishwashers.
