Wool, virgin wool, or lamb's wool - what's the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lamb's wool. Lamb's wool refers to the wool from the (very) first shearing of a sheep or lamb, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like virgin wool, it is usually obtained from live sheep, mostly in spring, as much as possible in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being wonderfully dyed orange and spun into yarn. The Klippan Knut blankets are then woven from this wool. Lamb's wool is said to be hardly scratchy, breathable, and to have excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lamb's wool is extra pre-combed. Nevertheless, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and especially at the beginning, the blanket sheds a bit.

The orange Knut throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cuddly blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it's best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener.
