The Mussini Il Denso is an award-winning Aceto Balsamico di Modena from Acetaia Mussini. In 2021, Mussini Il Denso took second place in the "Best Balsamic Vinegar" competition initiated by the renowned gourmet magazine Der Feinschmecker. Der Feinschmecker justified the award as follows: "a top-class balsamic vinegar from the Mussini family in Magreta near Modena. Very beautiful, very fruity, very pleasant, excellent. Their own 5 Medals seal of quality signifies the highest standard for balsamic vinegar. This balsamic vinegar contains a portion of vinegar aged for ten years in oak barrels."

Il Denso – Award-winning Balsamic Vinegar

Il Denso means "the dense one." Il Denso owes its thick consistency to the high proportion of grape must and its long aging in wooden barrels of various sizes. Through the wood, some of the liquid evaporates, and its viscosity increases. With a density of 1.28, its consistency is thick, almost like a Tradizionale. This fine, creamy balsamic vinegar has a full must flavor, with a complex sweetness, notes reminiscent of caramel, and a hint of freshness from the acidity (6%).

Il Denso Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP and its balanced sweet and sour taste pair well with steamed or grilled fish, salads, vegetables, and potatoes, as well as mushroom dishes. Try stuffed porcini mushroom ravioli or risotto ai funghi with a few drops of Il Denso Aceto Balsamico di Modena.

Acetaia Mussini – Balsamic Vinegar from Modena

Acetaia Mussini is a small, family-run vinegar manufacturer from the Modena area in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna. The two cousins, Giorgio and Gabriele, continue the tradition of their maternal grandmothers and produce high-quality balsamic vinegars. 15 employees oversee 15,000 wooden barrels of various sizes and produce approximately 800,000 bottles of balsamic vinegar annually.

As a modern Acetaia, Mussini combines apparent contradictions: respect for tradition and a passion for experimental flavors. In doing so, the two create both a connection to the past and a vision for the future with their high-quality products. They promote local food culture and embrace the demands of their modern clientele. This is exemplified by the new Bar series, which allows one to enjoy the flavors of Italian cocktails without alcohol, using a Scrup, a vinegar-based syrup.
