Alpe Pragas Sour Cherry Fruit Spread with 75% Fruit Content
Enjoy the intense, fruity taste of a special spread that is reminiscent of the cherry jam from grandma's garden. The Alpe Pragas Sour Cherry Fruit Spread is made from dark red, finely aromatic sour cherries – also known as morello cherries. This stone fruit belongs to the rose family and captivates with its highly aromatic, slightly tart profile. Unlike the sweeter sweet cherries, which are primarily suitable for direct consumption, sour cherries develop their full aroma in jams, compotes, or cherry liqueur.
The fruits ripen in the alpine climate of the Prags Valley at an altitude of approximately 1250 m, where they develop a particularly intense aroma thanks to the longer ripening period. Since 1994, the Gruber family has placed great importance on natural cultivation: seedlings are planted by hand, fields are tended multiple times, and irrigated with pure river and spring water from the Dolomites. This results in a fruit spread with a high fruit content of 75%, which is gelled only with natural apple pectin and contains no artificial additives, preservatives, colorings, or flavorings.

The Finest from the Dolomites – Quality and Sustainability
Alpe Pragas is a gourmet manufacturer that has been producing high-quality fruit spreads, marmalades, and jams in organic quality since 2002. The fruits are hand-picked ripe, pitted, cleaned, and gently cooked to optimally preserve vitamins, natural color, and, above all, the intense fruit flavor. In addition to fruit spreads, the range also includes syrups, mostardas, and chutneys – perfectly coordinated for diverse moments of enjoyment.
Production is carried out with a strong focus on sustainability: a modern production building, energy-efficient processes, and the desire for CO2-neutral production by 2027 reflect the responsibility towards future generations. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and innovative processes makes every spoonful of this fruit spread an authentic, fresh, and delicious experience from South Tyrol.
