Elderberry – the Scent of the Alps
Since the Middle Ages, an ELDERBERRY TREE was indispensable as a protector around home and yard. The "holuntar" was considered the "tree of Holle," the archetype of the wise Earth Mother, who, as a good spirit, was supposed to protect residents from illness and all misfortune. Therefore, it was unthinkable to fell the tree or burn its wood; farmers respectfully tipped their hats to it, and on the magical Midsummer's Night, young girls shook its branches, hoping to see the man of their dreams in the subsequent sleep. The strongly scented, creamy white elderflowers appear in June in flat corymbs, giving the popular elderberry syrup its unmistakable taste. The black-purple berries of autumn, processed into jam and juice, prepare us for the cold season. The Tiroler Reine Elderberry Soap conveys deep strength in its color and a strong spirit in its scent.
Tiroler Reine – Bar Soap
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and exceptional alpine scents characterize the Tiroler Reine soaps from the Walde company. Tiroler Reine chose shea butter as the basic substance for the soap because there is no local plant-based soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the karité tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are collected as part of a women's project founded in 2009 called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille).
The special thing about the plant-based fat of shea butter is its good moisturizing properties when using the soap. Every bar of Tiroler Reine soap is 100 percent biodegradable and completely disappears even in the bathroom: Thanks to its low water and air content, the soap does not break into small pieces after being used for a while, but remains a smooth, wonderfully scented piece of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.
The fragrances of the noble Tiroler Reine are masterfully composed scents inspired by nature.
Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde family of soap makers to create unique soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the Sellrain washerwomen and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the alpine valerian, to primroses as harbingers of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderberry, which provides protection and security.
