Alpine Rose – the Scent of the Alps
When the alpine slopes glow purple-red in May and June, extending beyond the treeline, the blooming season of the ALPINE ROSE has begun or is nearing its peak. The heather-family alpine rose, also known as Alpenrose, Donnerrösl, or Almrausch, was attributed various, sometimes contradictory, properties by popular belief: Superstitious hikers would throw their alpine rose bouquets far away if a thunderstorm approached, fearing being struck by lightning. North Tyrolean farmers, however, nailed alpine roses to the ridge beams of their farms to protect them from "thunder and lightning." In the romantic language of flowers, it is a symbol for lovers. If a secret admirer brought his beloved an alpine rose, it meant "When will we see each other again?" and was meant to promise future happiness. The delicate, sweet scent of the soap is intended to evoke this incomparable, intimate feeling of first love.
Tiroler Reine – Bar Soap
Exquisite ingredients, at least 3 milling processes, and extraordinary alpine fragrances characterize the Tiroler Reine soaps from the Walde company. For the basic substance of the soap, Tiroler Reine chose shea butter, as there is no local plant-based soap base that comes close to this quality. The shea butter from the nuts of the karité tree comes from Burkina Faso in West Africa. The nuts are collected as part of a women's project founded in 2009 called ABPJF (Association Burkinabé pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille).
The special feature of the plant-based fat in shea butter is its excellent moisturizing properties when using the soap. Every Tiroler Reine soap bar is 100 percent biodegradable and also completely disappears in the bathroom: Thanks to its low water and air content, the soap does not crumble into small pieces after some use, but remains a smooth, wonderfully scented piece of soap with a fine, creamy lather until the very end.

Tiroler Reine, an idea by Therese Fiegl, is a soap that incorporates the centuries-old knowledge of the Walde soap maker family to create distinctive soaps. Each soap tells its own story, from the Sellrain washerwomen and glacier milk, to the alpine rose and love, the forget-me-not, the resilience of the birch, the Alpine spikenard, to cowslips as harbingers of spring, the freshness of mountain mint, and elderflower, which conveys protection and security.
